Yes. The Anywhere Fireplace™ can be used anywhere indoors as long as all safety precautions that come on the instructions are followed. When burning the appropriate fuel for your fireplace, no harmful toxins or pollutants are emitted. It is clean burning. While the flame provided by burning the liquid bio-ethanol fuel for fireplaces is decorative and beautiful, it also is provides a decent amount of heat. Due to the ventless nature of the fireplaces themselves, no heat that is produced is lost up the flu or vent. Anywhere Fireplaces are NOT intended to be used as a heat source but for the decorative nature and ambiance that a fire offers. Heat is just an added benefit you will get when using it. Depending on the model of fireplace you have there are different amounts of heat output. Fireplaces that use the gel cans give off 3000 BTU while the liquid ethanol fireplace models give off between 4,000-6000 BTU. Remember never to leave your fireplace burning if unattended.

You can not recess your fireplace into a wall as it does get hot and it needs to allow air to flow around all sides including the back side.

You can easily clean your stainless steel fireplace by using an ordinary standard stainless steel spray cleaner found in your local supermarket or hardware store along with a soft cloth to wipe it down. If you have and choose to remove discoloration of the fuel tray and lid, Anywhere Fireplace recommend removing the fuel tray from the fireplace and use a paste or cream like stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth to rub and buff it clean.

The heat produced by the fire can cause some discoloration to the fuel tray and lid. Extended and constant use of your fireplace may lead to slight tarnishing and discoloration of the fireplace itself but can easily be cleaned off. See below if cleaning and care instructions.

The fuels burns clean without emitting any harmful toxins into the air. Only harmless water vapor and a small amount of carbon dioxide are produced. Make sure you ONLY use the correct fuel recommended for your fireplace. Use of any other kind of fuel can emit harmful toxins and/or be unsafe.

For the wall mount models, only mount them on a sturdy, flat, vertical wall surface. You can mount it against brick, drywall, stone, tile, and wallpapered walls. Do not mount it on any wall with a fabric or cloth covering. Make sure the provided spacers are screwed onto the back side of the fireplace so the fireplace as directed so that the fireplace is not directly against the wall.

There are 2 different fuels for Anywhere Fireplaces. The correct fuel depends on your model.

If your fireplace has a round opening, it uses a Gel Fuel canister. Anywhere Fireplace recommend SunJel or TerraFlame Gel cans.

If your fireplace has a long burner/reservoir, it requires a pourable liquid bio-ethanol fuel that is made specifically for ventless fireplaces. Anywhere Fireplace recommend using Smart Fuel™ liquid bio-ethanol fuel for fireplaces as it is tested as the safest fuel for indoor fireplaces. If you choose another brand of fuel, be sure it has a flame arrestor in the collar of the bottle for your safety.

The liquid/gel fuels are not interchangeable in your fireplaces. Be sure to only use the type of fuel for your fireplace and never substitute an alternative type of fuel as it may emit harmful toxins or be unsafe.

Follow all safety precautions. Never fill your fireplace without confirming there is no flame still lit.

NEVER USE BIO-ETHANOL FUEL FOR CARS OR ANY FUEL NOT INTENDED FOR VENTLESS FIREPLACES.

NEVER add fuel to a fireplace that is already burning or hot.

Liquid Fuel:

• Be sure the check that your fireplace is extinguished and that it is cool by snuffing out the flame and waiting at least 10 minutes for it to cool down.
• Carefully pour the fuel directly into the burner/reservoir using a funnel or other pouring device. Fill the reservoir until you see the fuel over the perforated holes inside the reservoir or approx 1″ from the top of the reservoir.
• Be sure no fuel spilled outside of the reservoir or clean up any spills.
• Carefully light with a long wand lighter.

Gel Fuel:

• Remove the lid from your gel fuel canister with a paint can opener or screwdriver.
• Carefully insert the gel fuel canister into the cup in the fireplace making sure nothing has spilled.
• If you are replacing a can that is already existing in the fireplace, be sure that that can is cool to the touch before removing it.
• Carefully light with a long wand lighter.

All fireplaces have a fuel tray with a lid to cover the opening and a separate handle. Use the provided handle to close the lid to the fuel tray to “snuff” or extinguish the fire. By closing the lid, you eliminate the supply of oxygen which extinguishes the flame.

The larger the opening of the lid, the more oxygen mixes with the flame and creates a larger flame, thus producing more heat. To adjust the size of the flame and heat production, adjust or dampen the lid.

The white cloth inside the fuel reservoirs on LIQUID fuel models is a non flammable ceramic fiber that acts as a sponge to wick fuel to the surface to create a better and more even dancing flame throughout your burn time. It also helps to prevent spillage if you move your fireplace after filling before lighting it.

Never move the fireplace while lit.

The Fuel ships from a different location than the fireplaces and because it is flammable can never travel by air therefore delivery times may vary by a few days.

No, the wind should not be able to extinguish your flame. It is the vapors of the fuel that are burning and the warmer the fuel is, the more vapors are being emitted and continually burning.

What is a Ventless Bio-Ethanol Fireplace or Gel Fuel Fireplace?

If you are like most everyone, you love the ambiance of fire, but like most people, you may have only one fireplace in your house or none at all, especially if you live in an apartment. Ventless bio-ethanol fireplaces are your dream come true. You can now enjoy a fireplace with real fire anywhere you would want one-inside any room. It can be in your bedroom, kitchen, family room, living or dining room, or outside on your patio, deck, or poolside without the big expense of major construction, without a need for a chimney or flue. There is no need for gas or electric connection, there is no smoke, no smell and you’ll never have to lug wood in or have to clean up afterwards.

So what is a ventless bio-ethanol fireplace you ask? There are a large variety of designs that meet the needs of any décor and all use a special “green” fuel that is a kind of denatured alcohol but made especially for these bio-ethanol fireplaces to burn clean and give beautiful big dancing flames. Instead of a combustible such as natural gas or propane, it is the vapors of the alcohol-based fuel that burns to give you a clean burn. When the fireplace burns, it emits nothing but water vapor and a small amount of carbon dioxide, which is what you breathe out, so it makes it safe for use indoors while giving you real nice dancing orange flames. The fireplaces with long rectangular burners use a pourable liquid fuel and it gets refilled for each use. Fireplaces with round cups use gel canisters. A can is dropped in and discarded after use. More than 50 different unique show-stopping models are available from Anywhere Fireplace® and each is designed to make a statement in your home. How does it work?

Liquid Fuel models: If you have a model that has a long rectangular opening reservoir, you just carefully pour in the liquid bio-ethanol fuel about 3/4 full using the funnel provided. That amount will depend on the model but you want it to be about half an inch from the top of the reservoir. Always check and clean up any fuel you may have spilled or dripped outside the reservoir. Then take a long bbq lighter and light it up. At first, the flame may seem low and blue but as it heats up, the fuel produces more vapors and within a few minutes, you will have the nice orange dancing flames that you desire. To put the flame out, use the provided snuffer lids and handles to cove the opening of the reservoir and this will snuff out the flame. Make sure your flame is extinguished and you have waited at least 5 -10 minutes to allow your fireplace to cool down before refilling. Each bottle lasts approx 4-5 hours but many models only use approx 1/2 bottle per fill so you would get 2-.25 hours of burning time per fill.

Gel Fuel Models: If your fireplace has a round cup-like opening, you have to use a gel fuel can. The cans are made specifically for ventless fireplaces. There are other kinds of gel fuel cans on the market for cooking and serving dishes but these will not work properly and will not give you a dancing flame you desire. To use, open the lid to the Gel Fuel canister with a paint can opener, flat head screwdriver, or any other thin object that can pop off the lid and place the can into the cup in your fireplace. Be sure that none of the gel fuel spills outside of the can. Light it up with a long bbq lighter and enjoy. To put the flame out before it burns out on its own, use the provided snuffer and place it over the cup. Wait at least 5 minutes to make sure the cup has cooled down before throwing out the can and using another.
